Commuters driving to work this morning were left wondering what happened to their favorite show, "Piolín Por La Mañana," hosted by Eddie "Piolín" Sotelo. Instead of the usual prank calls and banter, they were left with music and that is because Univision has pulled the plug on the popular talk show, a spokesperson confirmed to LA Times today.

The nationally syndicated radio show was popular amongst Hispanics as Sotelo related to his listeners on a personal level. No reason as to why the show was canceled, but it is most likely due to ratings.

Ricardo "El Mandril" Sanchez that has a show on station KLAX (97.9) took the top spot in the LA and Orange County marketing, according to Arbitron, with a share of 5.3% weekdays from 6am - 10am.

"Piolin" was also notably absent from last weeks "Premios Juventud" where he was the chosen favorite radio personality, an award that was not aired on the telecast.

Will you miss "Piolín Por La Mañana"?
