Tonight is an all-new episode of the hit-series "Preacher" on AMC and if you haven't started watching, now is the time to jump in. Critics continue to rave about the new series proclaiming it as the show of the summer.

"Preacher" is based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name. It is a supernatural, twisted and dark comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power: the ability to make people do his bidding with just a word. Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angels, Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from heaven and hell.

According to The Futon Critic, on the fifth episode, "South Will Rise Again," after his stunt with Quinncannon (Elizabeth Perkins), Jesse is Annville's newest rock star. Tulip and Cassidy connect, and The Cowboy makes a tragic decision. Furthermore, in a sneak peek clip we see Tulip questioning Cassidy about the basic rules of being a vampire. "South Will Rise Again" is written by Craig Rosenberg and directed by Michael Slovis.
