Early on in the night, Alejandra Guzmán and Gerardo Ortíz performed “Fuiste Mía” together at the 2016 Premios Billboard. This comes as kind of a shock after Ortíz has recently been in hot water due to his controversial music video for the song, which was taken down from YouTube after numerous protests that said it promoted femicide, and has been accused by the police of taking part in a crime ring.

As mentioned before, it was surprising to see Ortíz was still invited to perform at the show, and even more so was to see Guzmán screaming "viva las mujeres!" while performing with the controversial singer. The two seemed quite fond of each other and even shared a kiss and a “te quiero” at the end of their performance.

The Latin Billboard Music Awards 2016 will showcased musical magic and delivered on the promise to viewers with the huge treat of collaborations between different artists. Alejandro Fernández took the stage with his daughter Camila Fernández and performed "Circle Of Life" from "The Lion King" in Spanish. Fernando later joined legendary Juan Gabriel. Lucero also took the stage alongside Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, while Solis and Marc Anthony were paired up.
