The inaugural Premios Univision Deportes 2014 aired tonight with some of the biggest stars in sports. The night kicked off with Wisin performing "Adrenalina," the theme song that Univision used for the World Cup. The reggaeton star smashed it setting the tone for the high-energy and full of adrenaline sports award show. Other musical guests included "La Voz Kids" coach Natalia Jimenez singing "Quedate Con Ella" with a mariachi performing during half-time. The night ended off with a performance of Nico & Vinz with their international hit "Am I Wrong" finishing the gala with a stage full of colorful dancers bringing the audience to their feet.

Alan Tacher and Jacqueline Bracamontes hosted the sports award show that honored the best in sports. A special award was presented to Landon Donovan at the ceremony. The now retired MLS soccer player received the first Premios Univision Deportes Lifetime Achievement Award. The accolade was presented by Don Garber, Commissioner of the MLS, and joined Donovan on state to honor his career. Another special award of the night was the Chespirito Award For The Love Of Sports that went to Julio Gutierrez. The accolade was presented by Enrique Borja por his motivation of empowering his community and the lives of people that live in them.

Celebrities attending the event to help hand out the awards included "La Gata" stars Maite Perroni and Daniel Arenas, as well as "Hasta El Fin Del Mundo" villain Julián Gil. Other notable guests included Jackie Guerrido from "Primer Impacto," Raúl De Molina from "El Gordo y La Flaca" and Ximena Córdoba of "Despierta América." Honors went to Memo Ochoa for Best Save Of The Year, Miguel "El Piojo" Herrera for Best Sports Moment Of The Year, Antonio Mohamed for Best Liga MX Coach and James Rodriguez with two awards with Breakthrough Star Of The Year and Goal Of The Year.
