Aria may have discovered the truth about Ezra but does that mean this couple has any shot at redemption? With Ezra gun shot wound leaving him in "bad shape" for the Season 5 premiere, fans are expecting to see Aria soften and get back together with her longtime boyfriend. Alloy Entertainment

Even though “Pretty Little Liars” fans are well aware that Ezra will survive the nearly fatal bullet wound delivered with love from “A,” that doesn’t mean he will be back at the board at Rosewood High in the premiere episode. Ian Harding, who plays the dynamic Ezra Fitz, has confirmed that his character survives and will play a major role in Season 5 of “Pretty Little Liars” but he did reveal that his injury obtained during the Season 4 finale “A is for Answers” was very serious. For those of you who have already forgotten, Ezra dove in front of his ex-girlfriend Aria, the Liars and of course Alison in a selfless sacrifice to save them from “A” and Mr. Hasting’s powerful hand gun. The ending scene of Season 4 closed with more Aria tears, and Ezra seemingly bleeding out, luckily though he survives. "He's going to be in bad shape," Ian revealed of Ezra’s state in the premiere episode of Season 5. "I haven't seen the first script back, but in the costume fitting, I was getting fitted for medical gowns, several of them."

The Season 5 premiere seems like it will pick up immediately following the action on the roof in NY. Ali will be back in Rosewood, most likely forcibly through the Rosewood PD’s insistence, and Ezra will be seriously fighting for his life, which leads us to believe that Aria will find herself between a rock and hard place, meaning both her love and hate for Ezra will coming boiling to the surface. Ezra betrayed his longtime girlfriend, claiming that their meeting was just a chance accident, when in actuality he had been romantically involved with her best friend before she disappeared. Now in an attempt to not only make a name for himself as an author, but also to discover the truth behind disappearance of a girl he professed to loving, Ezra used Aria and the Liars to lead him to Ali. Aria discovered, the entire time the pair was in a relationship, he was using their conversations, and time spent together as a part of his research. So you can imagine that his road to redemption with Aria is going to be a long one? However, despite the betrayal Aria and Ezra are still very much connected, and Aria admittedly still cares about him. So after watching him sacrifice himself, then fight for his life, “Pretty Little Liars” fans should expect to see Aria’s stone clod attitude towards Ezra soften, leading us to believe the reconciliation will be a bit expedited in the start of Season 5.

According to recent spoilers, the Season 5 premiere of “Pretty Little Liars” will feature a paramedic and two surgeons, so fans should expect a dramatic hospital scene-featuring Aria waiting on bated breath. Lucy Hale, who plays the scorn Aria, revealed that an Ezra-Aria reunion is possible but will definitely be a tedious process. Hale explained her character’s complex emotions, stating, "I want to say that hopefully she'll come around and be with him, but at the end of season four, things are up in the air. It's almost like how much more can they take, you know? So I don't know. If she's strong enough to get back with him, I would hope so, but we'll see."
