‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 5 Premiere Spoilers: Read ‘EscApe From New York’ Synopsis!

The Season 5 premiere of “Pretty Little Liars” will pick back up where we left off, and while fans know that Ezra’s life will be hanging in the balance there is even more danger lurking for the Liars and Ali in “EscApe From New York.” In the Season 4 finale “A is for Answers” the Liars finally reunited with Ali, and surprising guest Noel Kahn in NYC. After Ali finally revealed the true tale of the night she disappeared, “A” found out where they were hiding, chased them to a rooftop and held them at gunpoint. “A” even attempts to shoot and kill Ali, but Ezra jumps in front and is deeply wounded.

ABC Family finally released the full synopsis for the Season 5 finale episode, and Ezra’s health situation sounds even more dire than we thought. It teases, “Moments after where the season four finale left off, Aria and the Liars are reeling from Ezra’s shooting at the hands of “A.” The five girls quickly realize that as the one person who truly knows A’s identity, Ezra, is in grave danger.” Ezra is most likely in grave danger because despite his serious health condition, him intervening with “A’s” plans to kill Ali and also him knowing “A’s” true identity puts him on top of tormentor’s hit list.

Due to Ezra’s new standing as “A’s” public enemy #1, the journey back from New York to Rosewood will be tense, but they will make it. The synopsis reveals, “While Aria stands watch over Ezra at the hospital, Alison and the PLLs lay a trap to finally flush out “A” but are shocked by who is ensnared.” The girls will discover someone, but unfortunately it won’t be “A.” After witnessing the latest black hoodie wearer’s acrobatic abilities, it doesn't surprise us that “A” will be able to dodge the Liars trap. However, one of the members of the “A team” will not be as agile, and the Liars will discover them.

In addition, the synopsis reads, “Meanwhile, Holbrook steps up his efforts to find the girls and puts the Hastings family on alert. And as news of Alison’s resurrection spreads, Mona is not pleased.” The Hastings, including Melissa are back in Rosewood and set to play an even larger role in the mysteries set to unfold in Season 5. The Hastings have always played a major role in the secrets of Rosewood, and fans are still trying to figure out why Melissa came home. Melissa’s return may be less about confessions and more about confrontations.

Melissa returned to Rosewood and so did CeCe Drake, which is leaving fans to wonder if the elder Hasting returned in time to confront her former fri-enemy. The Rosewood PD, in connection with the murder of Detective Wilden, apprehended CeCe, and it seems like she isn’t to worried about being convicted of homicide. She reveals to Detective Holbrook that's he knows who actually killed Maya St. Germain, so maybe she knows who really killed Wilden. Maybe the killer was none other than Melissa, who claims she is always trying to protect Spencer, and she has returned to ensure that CeCe Drake isn’t talking to the police abut her involvement.
