Award-winning musician Prince Royce and Sprint are teaming up to launch Live Unlimited The Dreams Academy to assist people in pursuing their life-long goals. The Dreams Academy will provide aspiring artists and innovators resources to help guide their journey, such as grants, internships and mentorship opportunities.

Latin Times spoke with the Bachata singer about the music contest and he explained how you can be awarded with the Grand Prize of $10,000 and a one-on-one mentorship session with him. “A lot of people don’t know but I used to work for a Sprint store in the Bronx,” revealed the singer to Latin Times. “With the money I earned, I recorded my first album and yes, back then I was taking risks, I was guessing, so what we wanted to do with this project is that fans or participants that can sing or play any musical instrument upload their videos and use the hashtag ‘Live Unlimited and hashtag ‘contest’ and submit at the Sprint website.”

Two runner-ups will each receive $5,000. Additional categories within the program will be added in the coming months and may include topics ranging from technology to entrepreneurship to community activism. The contest opens Dec. 11, 2017 encouraging musical talent to submit their entries in the form of a video.

Prince Royce and Sprint will choose the winners from the top 10 finalists based on criteria including vocal or instrumental ability to hit notes and tone, charisma, and a description of how you live unlimited.

Royce commented how he would liked to have had the opportunity that Sprint is offering to young people, and had someone to guide him in the process of recording a record or how to be part of a record label. “I made a lot of mistakes in the past, so this contest is a way to give back to the community and help others avoid making the same mistakes,” tells the Bronx-native singer.

Prince Royce took the opportunity to send a message via Latin Times to all the community. “This year I accomplished one of my biggest challenges, I ran the NYC Marathon and I did it for a few charities, and in my mind I thought that I could not do it. I can’t believe that I did it, I’m not a runner, and the fact that I did it was a proof to me that anything is possible when you set your mind to it,” says the singer.

“This contest is a good way to motivate the youth that anything is possible. This can be a great start for their careers and turn those hobbies into a potential career. If Prince Royce did it everybody can!” he added.
