Massive firmware update coming for the PS4. Screenshot PlayStation/PS4

As mentioned last month at GDC Sony will be releasing a massive firmware update for the next-gen PlayStation 4 console, this new update is said to add features that many fans have been requesting since the PS4's release. Recently a few features coming in the software update 1.70 were detailed.

First up is a new feature called SHAREfactory which will be enabled when the update launches. SHAREfactory is an easy-to-use video editor app that lets gamers customize their gameplay videos. Sony's PlayStation blog describes the features of SHAREfactory as:

With SHAREfactory, you can now easily combine your captured video clips for editing, personalize them with special effects using filters, transitions, and themes, as well as share them with your friends and social networks. SHAREfactory also allows you to personalize your videos by adding text, stickers, and a set of included audio tracks, as well as video commentary with picture-in-picture capability with PlayStation Camera. It also allows you to import your original music to add to the custom soundtrack for your video.

Another interesting aspect of SHAREfactory is the ability for players to not only upload their SHAREfactory-edited videos directly to Facebook, but to put them on an external USB-connected storage device.

Finally, another interesting feature revealed for firmware 1.70 update is the ability to download games early. With the update gamers will have the option to download their pre-ordered titles several days early.
