Do NASA photos prove there is life on planet Mars? According to a man in Japan, there is a living creature with legs and tail living amongst the rocks on Mars. The man went through dozens of pictures taken by NASA by the Mars Curiosity rover to discover what is now being called the "Mars rat."
The blog UFO Sightings Daily shows images of the supposed "Mars rat" and notes that the creature "seems to resemble a rodent but also may be a lizard." The original rats Mars photo was taken Sept. 28, 2012.
"Note its lighter color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach. Looks similar to a squirrel camouflaged in the stones and sand by its colors," wrote ScottCWaring of the rats Mars picture. "Hey, who doesn't love squirrels, right?"
The Rats Mars story isn't the first time allegations of life on Mars has come forth. Last December, a photo taken by the Curiosity rover at the "Rocknest" site disclosed a creature-like figure that resembled a squirrel. This image led to speculation, but like the rats mars speculation, causing the Internet to run wild with theories about life on Mars. But as UFO Sightings Daily notes, the figure seems to be staged as part of an experiment by NASA.
Adding fuel to the rats Mars story is NASA's revelation earlier this year that the Curiosity rover may have stumbled upon evidence that suggests that there may have been life on Mars. The scientists at NASA stated that the rover analyzed a rock sample in February that found that elements required to support live were found in the rock.
"We have characterized a very ancient, but strangely new 'gray Mars' where conditions once were favorable for life," said John Grotzinger, Mars Science Laboratory project scientist at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif., during the time of the announcement. "Curiosity is on a mission of discovery and exploration, and as a team we feel there are many more exciting discoveries ahead of us in the months and years to come."
