Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin sang to a male lover in his last concert in Rabat by changing the pronouns of his famous song She's All I Ever Had, and replacing several times the original "she" for "he" ("he" instead of "she"). Ricky, who sang to tens of thousands of Moroccans on 6 June, was one of the "highlights" of the most important music festival in a country where the practice of homosexuality is punished with imprisonment. The singer is for sure not unaware of this detail, nor the controversy aroused in 2010 by Elton John's participation.

Ricky Martin's presence in Rabat was less controversial, and no one wanted to bring up hi sexuality until after the concert, when a video began to circulate on the web in which a group of spectators in Rabat can be seen waving rainbow flag gay pride in the singer. It was said that the artist had sung for that small group of gay fans and went on to comment "What a pretty banner." The practice of homosexuality is punishable in Morocco with a sentences of up to three years in prison, plus tremendous social disapproval.

In the video, Ricky Martin can be heard changing one of his songs to sing to a male lover. The song 'She's All I Ever Had' began normally, with a woman being the object of devotion of the artist, when suddenly Ricky changed the pronouns and sang: “It’s the way he makes me feel/ It’s the only thing that’s real. It’s the way he understands / He’s my lover, he’s my friend / When I look into his eyes it’s the way I feel inside / Like the man I want to be / He’s all I ever need.” Ricky then goes back to the feminine pronoun.
