Shakira is the latest Latino celebrity to weigh in on the Donald Trump controversy. In a two-part tweet, the Colombian songstress expressed her thoughts regarding Mr. Trump's controversial speech the night he announced he was running for president of the U.S.

"This is a hateful and racist speech that attempts to divide a country that for years has promoted diversity and democracy!," she expressed. "No one living in this century should stand behind so much ignorance," she said in another tweet which included a video of his speech.

Many people are in solidarity with Mexicans and Latinos following the recent remarks Trump made about Mexicans during his presidential kickoff speech, where he referred to illegal immigrants as "rapists" and accused them for "bringing crime" and "bringing drugs" to the U.S.

Both Univision and NBCUniversal even ended their business relationships with Trump because his opinions do not represent those of the networks.

Shakira joins celebrities such as J. Balvin, Becky G, Roselyn Sanchez, Eva Longoria and Eugenio Derbez, who have all lashed out at Trump.
