While it may not be considered one of the greatest films of all time, or even a good film for that matter, "Sharknado" has had people talking ever since it aired on July 11. People were so fascinated by "Sharknado" it had an unbelievable 5,000 tweets a minute as it ran.
The Syfy movie starring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering is about a water spout that lifts sharks out of the ocean. The resulting "Sharknado" terrorizes the citizens of Los Angeles.
This Syfy disaster movie (make of that what you will) had so many tongues wagging it is going to be released in the theaters for one night only. As previously reported by Latin Times, starting at 12:05 am local time on August 2 selected cinemas across the US will show "Sharknado."
Ever since we first saw Jaws and heard that menacing music, sharks have been a part of the popular culture. The Discovery Channel devotes an entire week of the summer to the shark. We are fascinated by them, terrified by them and some of us even eat them. But more often than not sharks are the movie monsters we line up to see, hoping we'll get the pants scarred off of us.
Thanks to "Sharknado" we look at these once fierce creatures as something almost ridiculous. In keeping with that idea, Latin Times has come up with a list of 10 Latin American, Spanish or Hispanic themed movies that would be made so much better if they featured sharks as the main characters. Prepare yourselves for this one and check out our slide show!
