While Hernandez remains in prison as the situation surround the execution-style murder of Lloyd continues, police are now investigation the former New England Patriot tight end's involvement in a double murder that took place in July of 2012. Police have been searching for suspects in the 2012 murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado and while both murder investigations will continue, many people are wondering whether or not the fiancee of Aaron Hernandez will eventually testify in the Odin Lloyd murder case.

While Shayanna Jenkins - the longtime girlfriend of Hernandez and mother to his daughter - is not considered a suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd, the International Business Times reports that Jenkins could in fact be called to testify in a future trial. Jenkins and Hernandez have been dating since high school and remained together even when Hernandez left to attend the University of Florida.

Extremely cooperative throughout the investigation while living with Hernandez at his North Attleborough, Massachusetts mansion, NBC Sports reports Jenkins went silent because Hernandez told her to stop talking to police. According to LA Late, Shayanna Jenkins assisted prosecutors with details of their case shortly after the death of Lloyd. Jenkins' sister Shaneah was also said to have been dating Odin Lloyd.

While it is highly possible the 24-year-old will testify at some point, if she and the now-incarcerated Hernandez decide to get married before a court date is set, Jenkins will not have to testify against what would be her husband according to Massachusetts state law.

"A spouse shall not be compelled to testify in the trial of an indictment, complaint, or other criminal proceeding brought against the other spouse."

Hernandez was charged with murder and 5 additional gun-related charges earlier this week following an extensive investigation after Odin Lloyd's body was found with multiple bullet wounds on June 17th. Beginning an extensive investigation to uncover what really took place leading up to the murder, local and state police in Massachusetts began searching the area of North Attleborough in and around the home of Aaron Hernandez. Probing a nearby pond and the inside of the ex-NFL star's home, police gathered as much evidence as possible, leading to the arrest of Hernandez 9 days after the murder took place.
