Konami confirms "Silent Hills" game has been canceled. Konami/Silent Hills

It appears all the rumors floating around the internet are true, Konami has officially confirmed the "Silent Hills" game has been canceled. The horror game collaboration between "Metal Gear Solid's" Hideo Kojima and film director Guillermo del Toro is donezo but the publisher didn't really give fans a reason. In a recent interview with Polygon the publisher said:

"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic Silent Hills project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued." The publisher also told Kotaku that future projects were in the works.

"In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements," the publisher said.

According to The Verge the news comes after the new interactive teaser for "Silent Hills" would be pulled from the PlayStation Store this Wednesday. Meanwhile, Reedus took to Twitter to confirm the news and share his sorrow with his fans. "Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it'll come back around. Sorry everyone," Reedus tweeted.

Guillermo del Toro has very bad luck with video game productions. This is his second big gaming project to fail following "Insane" which was canceled back in 2012 when THQ fell apart. Del Toro has yet to share his feelings on the cancelation of "Silent Hills" but we'll be keeping an eye out.
