Social Media Day is a worldwide trend on the Internet Thursday as June 30 marks the official day of celebrating all social media platforms. The unofficial holiday was created by Mashable in 2010 as a "way to recognize and celebrate social media's impact on global communication."
The interactive day is not only Internet-based; in fact, meet-ups happen all over the world, including Egypt, Spain and the U.S., celebrating social media day.
