"Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner is taking some of Westeros home with her! Turner portrays Sansa Stark, the daughter of Lord Eddard and Catelyn Stark of Winterfell, on HBO's fantasy series. Both of her parents were slain in season 1 and season 3, along with her eldest brother, Robb Stark, making her the heir to Winterfell.

The sigil of House Stark of Winterfell is the direwolf so when her father and brother come across direwolf pups the children are all gifted with one of the massive beasts. The Stark children immediately embrace their new protective pets and the direwolves become a main focal point of the show.

"Game of Thrones" fans will remember the tragic end to Sansa's direwolf, Lady. Sansa's father Ned Stark, played by Sean Bean, was forced to kill Lady after Joffrey Baratheon was attacked by another one of the Stark's direwolves. His mother, Cersei Lannister wrongly indicated Lady, she then ordered one of her men to kill "the beast," but Ned said he would do it himself because Lady deserved better than a butcher.

Following the end of Lady's run on the show, Turner adopted Zunni, the Northern Inuit Dog who portray the massive wolf. Turner told the Coventry Telegraph, "Growing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one."

We kind of fell in love with my character's direwolf, Lady, on set," Turner told the newspaper. "We knew Lady died and they wanted to re home her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her."
