The 2013-2014 college football season is officially underway and as each team around the country makes its charge toward a national championship, fans of the sport will continue to enjoy months of top-level football. Alabama won its second-consecutive championship last season with a complete dismantling of Notre Dame and while those two squads are once again expected to have big seasons, a handful of other major programs will certainly garner tons of attention as the long season beats on.

Week 1 saw the Clemson Tigers take down the Georgia Bulldogs in a thrilling 38-35 contest and as the season gears up for a stacked second week, the Bulldogs are once again in the spotlight as they continue a brutally tough opening slate. Set to host No. 6 South Carolina, the No. 11 Bulldogs hope to earn their first win of the season over Jadeveon Clowney and the extremely quick and talented Gamecocks. South Carolina put down North Carolina to open the season thanks to complete balance on both sides of the ball and in order to upend quarterback Aaron Murray and last season's SEC runner-up, Carolina will need another thorough effort.

When and Where to Watch No. 6 USC vs. No. 11 UGA

The Gamecocks and Bulldogs will meet on Saturday, September 7 at 4:30pm, ET. Television coverage will be provided by the ESPN Network with on-line live streams available through WatchESPN and by following this link.

Player to Watch - South Carolina: Jadeveon Clowney, DE

Tabbed as one of the 2013 Heisman Trophy candidates, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is easily the most talented defensive player in all of college football. Entering his junior season, Clowney was expected to help the Gamecocks make a serious push for an SEC Title and possible berth in the National Championship. With 21 total sacks and a whopping 35.5 tackles for loss in just over 2 seasons, No. 7 is a true can't miss NFL prospect and a nightmare for the opposition.

Following a convincing 27-10 victory over North Carolina to begin his junior campaign, Clowney will now face a prime test in the loaded offense of the Georgia Bulldogs. His presence at the line of scrimmage against quarterback Aaron Murray and running back Todd Gurley will go a long way in determining who walks away the victor in Saturday's top 15 showdown.

Player to Watch - Georgia: Todd Gurley, RB

Georgia running back Todd Gurley put together a strong season-opener in the Bulldogs' loss at Clemson last weekend. Rushing for 154 yards and 2 scores on 12 carries, the sophomore solidified himself as one of the top backfield threats in the game. With Jadeveon Clowney lurking on the other side of the ball, Gurley's battle with USC and their defensive end may be his toughest challenge this season.

Quarterback Aaron Murray is certainly capable of lighting it up through the air at any time but since Gurley is coming off a strong performance in the last game, expect Georgia to incorporate balance in the offensive plan against a solid South Carolina defensive unit that's equipped with size, speed and strength up and down the depth chart.
