Spain versus Chile will be a great match up as both teams will be gunning for the win with a trip on the line to the second round of the 2014 World Cup. Spain is certainly in a more desperate scenario following a 5-1 loss to the Netherlands which is the country’s worst loss in 51 years. Chile on the other hand is coming off a 3-1 victory over Australia feeling quite a bit more chipper.

The latest out of the Spain camp is some heads are going to roll as Head Coach Del Bosque is possibly going to make some dramatic changes to the lineup which could include leaving out Xavi, Gerard Pique, David Silva and Diego Costa. Keep in mind that Spain lost its opening game to Switzerland in the 2010 World Cup only to move on win the tournament so Del Bosque needs to be careful not to shake the tree too much.

Arturo Vidal and Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, are familar with the Spanish style of play and are going to have to have big games for the Chileans. With that being said, Chile is still the dark horse in this group and is going to have to be at its best in order to beat a very capable Spain squad. The fact that Chile has not beat Spain in its last 10 matches does not bode well either.

The real question in this match is going to be if Spain can mentally put the last game behind them. They will need all cylinders running Wednesday, as it's imperative they come flying out of the gate and play with passion. Spain has loads of skill and should be able to execute on its game plan. If Spain can get the first goal they can probably build on that and this could end up being a runaway game for the defending Champions.

My Prediction: Expert an early Spain goal to get the ball rolling for La Furia Roja and watch it snowball from there. 3-1 Spain.
