"Storage Wars" dropped 3 more cast members from upcoming episodes. The A&E reality show that follows real-life public auction bidders in Southern California has decided to exclude some of its "highest paid" cast members from the hit program.

Darrell Sheets, the burly bidder known to many as "The Gambler", who often bids alongside his son, Brandon Sheets, has been reportedly been cut from a number of episodes. Newsmax reported that A&E "lived up to Darrell's contract" but left Sheets out of the additional episodes filmed for this season of "Storage Wars".

Additionally, the longtime husband-and-wife auctioneer duo of Laura and Dan Dotson were cut out of a number of episodes because A&E did not need their storylines to be a part of some of the episodes. Sources said that the Dotsons and Darrell Sheets could be replaced by "cheaper talent".

"Storage Wars" is filmed on-location at numerous public storage facilities on the Pacific coast. However, Sheets, and his current co-stars, the duo of Jarrod Schulz & Brandi Passante, and Barry Weiss are only a few of the large number of locals that show up to bid on 'mystery' lockers. At a storage auction such as those on "Storage Wars", bidders are able to view open storage units from outside the threshold of the locker, but cannot touch the contents or enter the unit unless they have won the unit at auction.

Former "Storage Wars" star David Hester, owner of Dave Hester Auctions and known best for his catchphrase "Yuuup!", when announcing his bid for a unit, was cut from the series after he filed a lawsuit against A&E Network. Hester claimed the show was often faked and that he was fired unjustly for bringing his suspicions to network executives' attention. Hester was often made out to be the 'bad guy' in the episodes.

He was portrayed to often "bid-up" a unit or "dump" a unit on a fellow cast member by allegedly recognizing an opposing bidder that showed interest in a unit he did not often want, and continually raise the bidding amount and later suddenly stop bidding himself so that the unit would be likely sold to the opponent at a much higher price. His bidding antics and brash style, including his use of "Yuuup!" in place of the standard hand-raise often led to a well-known war of words between himself and the less vocal Sheetses.

According to Radar Online, Schulz and Passante voiced their support of "salting" units appearing on "Storage Wars," noting the practice of adding otherwise absent items to a unit to increase its post-bid value and make for better television. Though seen by some as a glamorous and easy way to make money, most storage units are indeed full of odds and ends that might not catch as much as bidders hope, should they sell their winnings or auction them off themselves on eBay.

The Dotsons and Darrell Sheets offered no apparent public comment about their cutbacks.
