"Telemundo confirms that Omar Germenos is no longer with 'Un Nuevo Dia.' We appreciate his work, dedication and professionalism as co-host of the network’s morning show. We wish him all the best in his future plans,” a rep for Telemundo said in a statement to LatinTimes.com.

Nothing has been said as to who will replace the Mexican presenter or the specific reason that led the Spanish network to make the decision and cut ties with him. What is true is that Germenos did not have this in his plans as he recently told LatinTimes he saw himself in Miami for at least the next five years.

"I feel fine and comfortable in Miami for at least the next, at least, five years. Normally, in this industry, the whole family travels when they give you work. We don't want to do that as we have the mindset to stay in one place for many years. So, we were testing Miami for the past three years and we've decided we would like to stay for at least five more years."

"Un Nuevo Día" airs weekdays starting at 7am ET/PT on Telemundo.
