Selena Quintanilla continues to serve as a source of inspiration for many people nationwide despite her passing. Being coveted as the "Queen Of Tejano Music", Selena continues to make amazing strides within the entertainment and beauty world.

According to Billboard, Selena Quintanilla is the one of five women to be bestowed the honor of being inducted into Texas's Women's Hall of Fame over the weekend. Over Selena's short career, the beauty was able to put Tejano music on the map and successfully cross-over into mainstream launchinan English-language album just before her sudden death.

Her sister Suzette, was in attendance to accept the award on Behalf od Selena and the Quintanilla family. "I feel very proud in knowing there's a new generation who has embraced and looked up to her as a role model. I know my sister would be ecstatic to be accepting this award that's so empowering for women."

Along with the many accomplishments Selena has made in her short life such as introducing the Tejano genre of music into the mainstream music world, she has received tons of accolades and has been recognized by Texas's governor for her amazing talent. He has spoken out publicly about the star "shattering stereotypes and expectations, proving the impossible is always possible." Although Selena is not here in physically, she continues to make the Latin community extremely proud.

The other inductees for this amazing honor include: Emma Carter Browning, aviation; Susie Hitchcock-Hall, business; Ginger Kerrick, science, technology, engineering and math; and Dr. Renu Khator, public service. The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame is located at Texas Women’s University.

The star made history being the first late celebrity to have a cosmetics line with MAC Cosmetics. Anticipation was at such an all-time high, uon its release, the makeup line sold out in a matter of hours. The stunning collection that consists of lipsticks, eyeshadows and blush can be found at MAC Cosemtics locations as supplies last.

Selena was murdered in a hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas by her former fan club president Yolanda Saldivar.
