Rivalry between Thalía and Sandra Bullock, who play the same character (“Scarlet Overkill”) in the “Minions” movie, was propelled when the media published “Who Wore It Best” articles in which pictures of them wearing the same “Minions” high heels at the movie’s premiere were shown. Later on, it was reported that designer Rupert Sandersons was the mastermind behind the amazing stilettos, and he used the Red Carpet event to promote his creation.

Many thought that the title “Thalía vs. Sandra Bullock” would die with those articles, however, the Mexican actress is bringing it back after publicly commenting about Bullock’s approach to the character during a recent interview in NYC: “Precisely-her work-gave me a guideline of what not to do. I wanted to make the character completely new, fresh, mine, very ours, very Latino, which is something that her interpretation didn’t have, with all our expressions and our personality.”

She continued by describing her first experience as a villain, and how “liberating” is was to let go of her goody two-shoes image: “Lending my voice to play a villain was liberating, in a way it was like an exorcism. I have always been a family artist, since I started my singing career, everything has been focused to family audiences. I know I seem sexy, irreverent and outgoing, but I’m like that.”

She later admitted that we all need to have that balance in our personality, the good and the bad: “We are all that ying and yang, we can all be sweet, loving, motherly, which is my case, but all of the sudden the monster inside you can come out; when you want your things and are looking for life objectives you can also be bad.”

It seems like Thalía might be a little too caught up with playing the villain, but we are going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Oh boy, we hope Sandy doesn’t take her comments in a bad way.
