Tina Fey has said "no way" to hosting the 2014 Oscars. Who will host the 86th annual Academy Awards in 2014? Creative Commons

Tina Fey, beloved comedienne, former "SNL" writer, actress and creative force behind the NBC hit, recently concluded comedy, "30 Rock," says "no way" will she host the Oscars in 2014. This comes on the heels of Seth MacFarlane's subjectively distasteful 2013 Oscar hosting performance, which was only some of the horror and awkwardness of this year's 2013 Academy Awards. It seems that Tina Fey doesn't want to host the 2014 Academy Awards. The Huffington Post has the scoop:

On Sunday night's Oscar telecast, William Shatner -- who appeared on the show "from the future" as Captain James T. Kirk to explain how poorly Seth MacFarlane's hosting gig would be received by the media -- asked, "Why couldn't they get Tina and Amy to host?" The Tina and Amy in question here are Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who both received rave reviews for their recent efforts hosting the Golden Globes. Fey is currently promoting her new film "Admission" (co-starring Paul Rudd and opening March 22), and we asked her about Shatner's wish and if she had any interest whatsoever in hosting the 2014 Oscars.

In Tina Fey's Huffington Post interview, when asked about whether she would consider hosting the 2014 Academy Awards, she said "no way," playfully citing the reason as follows:

[...] I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman -- the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone ... no way.

We are, of course, sad to hear that Tina Fey says "no way' to hosting the 2014 Oscars, but it's comforting to know she has a sense of humor about it. Tina Fey is starring in the upcoming "Admission," alongside Paul Rudd, who plays her love interest. According to Pride Source, Fey has described the movie as being "about chasing acceptance. That formal outward acceptance shouldn't be valued as much. That's the message: Just be who you are."

On working from the "Admission" script, which she didn't write herself unlike the breadth of "30 Rock" material, Tina Fey was quoted in The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's really nice to be able to just show up and know that the work has already been done thoughtfully and caringly. At the same time, if we did have questions about the script, everyone was totally open to talking about stuff."

In a post-"30 Rock" world, Fey is still busy at work. It has also been reported that she is working on a new "Mean Girls" musical with her husband and composer, Jeff Richmond, though "Mean Girls" movie star Lindsay Lohan is not likely to reprise her role, for many reasons.
