Amongst the many things to look forward to each year are new TV shows and season premieres and as soon as January, there’ll be many exciting things to look forward to. There’s much excitement for award season during the first few months of the year, starting with the Golden Globes, the Critic’s Choice Awards, the SAG Awards, and then come the Grammys to precede the Oscars. “Parks and Recreation” will be premiering its 7th and last season and promises amazing guest star appearances, including Jennifer Lopez!

The year will start off right for “Downton Abbey” fans, since the show’s fifth season premieres as early as January 4. Needless to say, the wait’s been too painful and long for the third season of Netflix’s “House of Cards” and “Orange Is The New Black”. Of course, the return of “Game of Thrones” can’t come too soon, and neither can “The Walking Dead’s”, both shows returning for their fifth seasons. For those still mourning the departure of “Breaking Bad”, rumor has it they’ll find some comfort next year’s spin off “Better Call Saul.”

What we’re most excited about is the rise of upcoming Latino TV shows next year. Jennifer Lopez will star as a a single mother and undercover FBI agent in her next TV adventure, NBC series “Shades of Blue”. Gael García Bernal will star in his first US series, Amazon’s “Mozart in the Jungle”, as prodigy conductor Rodrigo D’Souza. Also, Luis Gerardo Méndez recently started filming a Netflix first ever series in Spanish, directed by Gaz Alazraki centers on a family feud among heirs of a soccer club after the owner’s death.

It also seems like 2015 will be the year of the biopics, starting with a Celia Cruz bio telenovela that will be 80 episodes long! Diego Luna, Ana de la Reguera and Dolores Heredia will star in the mini-series “Cortando el Puente” following the atrocities of the 12-year Salvadorian war. We’ll also have Eva Longoria’s show “Pair of Aces” based on the life of democrat twins Julián and Joaquín castro; and "Jane the Virgin" will continue airing its highly succesfull first season.
