Telemundo and Univision, along with many other networks, united to air the "One Voice: Somos Live" concert to benefit the victims of the hurricanes in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean as well as the earthquake in México. The broadcast was 2 hours in when Univision abruptly cut off our Bronx-diva Jennifer Lopez mid-song. The Spanish-language network instead aired a Mexican soccer match in its place. It did not take long before Twitter reacted negatively upset that they stopped airing the special. Univision, as well as Telemundo, continued streaming the concert on social media as well as other cable networks. Read the reactions from viewers below and tell us what you think!

The special benefit concert telecast “ONE VOICE: SOMOS LIVE! A CONCERT FOR DISASTER RELIEF,” which features some of the biggest superstars in the entertainment world, announced today additional performances, new broadcast partners and sponsors. Performances live from Sold-Out Miami’s Marlins Park include: MARC ANTHONY, CAMILA, GENTE DE ZONA, NICKY JAM, DJ KHALED, MAGIC!, PRINCE ROYCE, ROMEO SANTOS, ALEJANDRO SANZ, and DADDY YANKEE and from the NBC soundstage in Los Angeles JENNIFER LOPEZ, DEMI LOVATO, MAROON 5, RICKY MARTIN, GWEN STEFANI, STEVIE WONDER, CHRIS MARTIN, MARY J. BLIGE, ANDRA DAY, and MAXWELL.

Under the banner of Somos Una Voz, the alliance of artists conceived by Marc Anthony, to aid those in need from the effects of recent natural disasters, “ONE VOICE: SOMOS LIVE!”will help provide food, shelter, medicine, power and communications to the areas affected by the recent unprecedented devastation from natural disasters throughout the southern United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and other affected areas in the Caribbean. SOMOS UNA VOZ is a charitable service fund of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised from the telethon will benefit the following organizations: Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) Feeding America, Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity, Unidos for Puerto Rico, United Way and UNICEF USA.

This landmark event marks the first time in history that the two leading Spanish language networks, Telemundo and Univision, have come together to simulcast programming. The Miami Marlins Park event is made possible by the generous support of sponsors Sprint, Popular, Walmart, American Airlines and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
