Speculators say "GTA 5" 1.17 update could be the Heists DLC as Rockstar Games conducted a server maintenance on Sept. 19. Rockstar Games

[UPDATE] This article was updated to correct the upcoming "GTA 5" update version to 1.19. I apologize for the error.

Earlier this month, Rockstar Games finally released "GTA 5" for the latest PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Following the long-awaited next-gen title release, Rockstar also announced that the upcoming major "GTA 5" 1.19 update will be the highly anticipated Heists DLC. However, Rockstar has yet to mention a "GTA 5" Heists Update DLC release date.

Last week, Rockstar had taken "GTA" game servers offline for maintenance, prompting gamers to report issues with connectivity for a couple of days last week. Usually, server maintenance for GTA Online are strong indicators of an imminent major update. The next-gen PS4 and Xbox One systems received critical patch updates to improve GTA Online stability, while the last-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 systems received patches that fixed player vehicle date glitches on GTA Online. Given the patches made for both next-gen and last-gen consoles, will the "GTA 5" 1.19 update Heist DLC arrive soon?

According to "GTA 5" tipster and YouTuber DomisLive, the latest updates were to fix account transfer bugs or migration issues as well as GTA Online connectivity issues. Some next-gen players discovered a glitch that caused their account to have an extra couple million dollars in GTA 5 money during last-gen to next-gen account transfers. As for last-gen players, Rockstar resorted to issuing a troubleshooting guide to aid gamers suffering with GTA Online connectivity issues. The patches are essentially released to solve gameplay issues on GTA Online. Unfortunately, that also means that the patches are unrelated to the "GTA 5" Heists update.

That said, Rockstar had already confirmed that the Heists DLC will be the next major update. The only question that remains is when we should expect the "GTA 5" 1.19 Update to arrive. Traditionally, Rockstar has released one major update every month since "GTA 5" for PS3 and Xbox 360 released last year. However, Rockstar did not release any updates in September and delayed the "GTA 5" 1.17 Update until the beginning of October. Now, the trend of monthly release date has been completely thrown out of whack, making it more difficult than ever to speculate upcoming DLC release dates.

Previously, "GTA 5" tipsters including DomisLive, iCrazyTeddy, TwoDynamic, and Chr0m3 x MoDz would uncovering major source code leaks that reveal details on the upcoming DLC's. With only a couple days left until Thanksgiving and exactly one week until December, the odds of receiving the "GTA 5" Heists Update in November are extremely slim. Stay tuned as we learn more about the "GTA 5" Heists Update in the days ahead.
