Venezuelan actor and singer Manuel "Coko" Sosa lived moments of tension when a Venezuelan woman approached him in a luxurious restaurant in the Dominican Republic. The unidentified woman, accused Sosa of being a criminal.

"Because of the money you stole, there is no medicine [in Venezuela] while here you are living a great life, in the best restaurants, the best restaurant in Dominican Republic, because you have tons of cash to spend, with what you stole from my money, the money of all Venezuelans," the woman shouted.

The woman continued with the strong accusations and said that Sosa was a supporter of the Hugo Chavez regime. "Chavista, you're a thief, murderer ... young people die every day, and here you are with that little face like you've done nothing." At that moment Sosa turns his body and looks at his friend, and the woman immediately says "you turn your back because you don’t want people knows that you are a Chavista, they are dying because of you."

The actor, who has participated in the telenovelas "Mi gorda bella" and "Mi Prima Ciela," among others, remained calm and simply replied: "what, money? investigate better, investigate better."

To make matters worse for the actor, the friend he was with is Ali José Ramos, a businessman with companies both in Venezuela and Dominican Republic, who is allegedly Jorge García Carneiro's figurehead. García Carneiro is a Venezuelan politician and military who held several posts during Chávez's regime and was the general in charge of the largest military unit in Caracas during the 2002 coup d'etat.

Coko Sosa has also been somewhat publicly involved with the Chávez regime, as it was rumored in 2013 that he was involved sentimentally with Hugo Chávez's daughter, María Gabriela, after she posted a photo with the actor in her Twitter account.

Most recently, Sosa was seen with his ex and mother of his son, Shannon de Lima, who had recently announced her divorce from Marc Anthony at the time, attending a concert together in Dominican Republic before ringing in the New Year in December 2016. The two looked cozy and sweet, enjoying and dancing to the music.
