In the latest three-minute preview by AMC numerous members of the cast and crew including Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) discuss what fans should look forward too from the second half of the court season of the “The Walking Dead.” The promo trailer also reveals a plethora of clips of the survivors from the fall of the jail on the road trying to survive. The new footage shows surviving groups like Daryl and Beth, Tyreese and siblings Lizzie and Mieke, and probably perhaps most telling of all, Rick, Carl and Michonne.

“It’s moving the show into a much deeper, and darker, and grown up territory,” says series star Andrew Lincoln. “We’ve had the sanctity and the security of the prison for a season and a half, and we’re on the road again,” Lincoln adds. “People have been spun into orbit. Every one has been separated, and it’s a terrifying world that we inhabit again. We’re weakened because we’re split from each other.” He also adds that the second half of season four feels like a new season entirely. “We’re moving into a whole new psychological horror,” Lincoln says.

Particularly, Rick will respond to the loss of their sanctuary, the prison, and becoming a more stern figure to Carl, who clearly now has some resentment towards his fathers failure and the loss of their friend Hershel in the midseason finale. Danai Gurira also spoke about how Michonne will be dealing with the attack on the prison and the loss of Herschel. “Being right next to Hershel when that happened, it’s really a question of what does this damage to Michonne,” said Gurira. “How is she going to process that loss. it’s very tricky for her to find peace considering all the destruction that’s happened.”
