The Walking Dead
"The Walking Dead" Season 6 on AMC. AMC

Tonight is the season six premiere of "The Walking Dead" on AMC and we are beyond excited! We cannot wait to see what will happen to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang in the season opener "First Time Again."

According to AMC (via Wetpaint), "Season 6 starts with Alexandria's safety shattered by multiple threats. To make it, the people of Alexandria will need to catch up with our survivors’ hardness while many of Rick’s people will need to take a step back from the violence and pragmatism they've needed to embrace. These reversals won't happen easily, or without conflict. But now Rick’s group is fighting for something more than survival. They're fighting for their home, and they will defend that at any cost, against any threat, even if that threat comes from within."

In a first look preview we see the cast and crew of "The Walking Dead" share their expectations for season six. From the video we learn there will be a dynamic of "us versus them" between Rick's gang and the Alexandria citizens. We will also see an escalation of the human threat versus the zombie threat and which one is more deadly to our protagonist.

The synopsis for the premiere "First Time Again" reads: "Rick and the group are still having trouble assimilating into Alexandria. Will a new threat bring them closer together or drive them further apart?"

As in previous seasons, the show's sixth season of 16 episodes will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes kicking off Oct. 11 and the final eight returning February 2016.

"The Walking Dead" season six premiere will air on Sunday, Oct. 11 starting at 9:00 p.m. EDT on AMC and will be available the next day on VUDU, amc.com, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Xbox. AMC does offer a live stream service via its webiste but you must be a subscriber to the network through your cable provider and you must sign in.
