"Empire" Season 3 news, rumors and more. FOX/Empire

Its finally here and we cannot contain our excitment! The second season of the smash-hit series "Empire" will premiere tonight on Fox. Tonights episode titled "The Devils Are Here" will kick off the season with a bang as we jump right into the drama that only "Empire" can bring.

According to TV Guide, Season two picks up three months after the arrest and incarceration of Lucious (Terrence Howard), who is trying to run Empire Entertainment from inside federal lockup. Elsewhere, a headline-grabbing state prosecutor hangs her political ambitions on bringing Lucious down; and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) stages a star-studded concert in support of her ex, while at the same time she's plotting with Andre (Trai Byers), Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), Anika (Grace Gealey) and Mimi Whiteman (Marisa Tomei) to finalize the hostile takeover of his company.

There are a couple of sneak peek clips released by Fox, the first of which is titled "Ain't Playing No Games" and shows Cookie visiting Lucious in jail. We've seen this clip before in previous trailers but this new sneak peek gives us a more in-depth look at the ex-couples conversation. In another clip named "Rude and Crude" we see Jamal (Jussie Smollett) taking the lead as CEO of the family business but it doesn't seem to be going over well with his siblings, at least Hakeem anyway. And in the final clip called "Say What?" we get our first look at Tomei's character as she hits on Anika. Check out all three videos below.

"Empire" will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox and will be available the next day via FOXNOW, Xfinity, iTunes and Hulu. Some of these options will cost you with episode prices ranging from $1.99 to $2.99. Unfortunately Fox does not offer a live stream service on its website but if you are truly out of option you can watch the premiere episode here, here and here.
