Amanda Bynes has been missing in action ever since she started a fire on a random driveway and placed on psychiatric hold. She was obviously a no show for her court appearance from a case that has been open since her arrest back in April 2012, when she hit a police car. Richard Hutton, Amanda's attorney, told E! News that he made a technical request to the court to claim that the actress can't fully comprehend the legal proceedings. "The mental health court will examine Bynes and determine her competency to stand trial, the attorney added.

The 27-year-old actress had been making headlines earlier in the year for her erratic behaviour which included spilling gasoline on her dog the day she set the driveway on fire, then later trying to wash him off by going into a convenience store and heading to the personnel only area. During this incident, the cashier at the store followed Bynes to the back room and saw her rinsing off her dog in a sink. When she saw him, she "freaked out" and left the store minding her business. After this incident, Amanda was found by police standing near a fire burning at a house in Thousand Oaks. As soon as this happened, she was placed on a 5150 hold and has been under mental health observation ever since.

In August, Amanda's parents were granted temporary conservatorship over their daughter. As per her doctor's request, an extension for her remaining hospitalized for another 30 days was granted. Days later she was transferred to UCLA Medical Center where she remains up until today. A hearing for the permament conservatorship is set for September 30 and the next court date regarding the ongoing DUI case is to take place on January 7.
