St Patricks Day 2015
St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday, March 17, 2015! Reuters

St. Patrick's Day is on Tuesday, March 17 this year. Traditionally, the popular Irish holiday celebrates Ireland's patron saint, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. Today, the holiday is celebrated in many parts of the world and, at least in the United States, has become a reason to get ridiculously inebriated.

It's always a joy to celebrate a holiday by sharing a couple pints with your friends. Thankfually, there are no shortages of Irish pubs in New York (literally hundreds), but here's a link to Yelp that shows 40 of the highest rated Irish pubs in New York, from the Upper West Side all the way to Astoria, Queens.

Of course, who can forget the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade? The parade will be held at 11 a.m. on March 17 and will begin at 44th Street and 5th Avenue. The parade will march up, past St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street, before arriving at the American Irish Historical Society at East 80th Street. The parade is expected to finish around 4:30-5 p.m.

Finally, for holiday revelers that are interested in something less family friendly, might we suggest the 10th Annual NYC Craft Beer Festival. Obviously, you can't be the definitive beer festival for 10 straight years without a respectable beer menu. How does 75 breweries and more than 150 different beers sound? The 10th Annual NYC Craft Beer Festival will be held at the Lexington Avenue Armory at Midtown East from Friday March 13 to Saturday, March 14. Be sure to check the official website here to learn more.
