The sexiest fashion show of the year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on Tuesday, November 28 at 10/9 central on CBS. However, the show was already recorded in Shanghai earlier this week and like in any live show, there were a few bumps in the road. One of the most notable mishaps was when Chinese model Ming Xi took a tumble on the runway and seemed to be struggling to get back up again and continue her walk.

Right behind her came Victoria’s Secret newcomer, Brazilian beauty Gizele Oliveira, who stopped her debut at the lingerie fashion show to help her friend in need. Not only did Gizele help Ming up, but she waited until she finished her walk and hit end of runway pose before resuming with her own walk.

After the show was over, Ming took to social media to express her gratitude towards the support she got not only from Gizele, but from everyone present and the other models and crew backstage.

“It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother's and my people's eyes,” Ming said, before thanking everyone who rushed to comfort her, including the people who sent messages online. “I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!”

So, who is this “angel” who came up to Ming’s rescue making her Victoria’s Secret debut one for the books? Here are 11 things to know about Gizele Oliveira.

  1. Gizele hails from Espirito Santo, Brazil.
  2. Growing up she was very skinny and tall, and everyone kept saying she should be a model but she was very shy. “I couldn’t even speak to people, that’s how shy I was,” Oliveira told Latin Times.
  3. She started modeling for her uncle, who does bridal dresses. An agency saw her during one of the fashion shows and asked her if she wanted to model for them. “I loved the experience of doing photo shoots and shows and I decided to go forward and sign with an agency,” she said.
  4. Since then, she’s been featured in Maxim, walked the runway of many renowned names in fashion like Elie Saab, John Paul Ataker, Rebecca Minkoff, Cushnie et Ochs, KITH, Etam, Akris and more, and she also documents all things fashion, beauty and travel on her blog Gizele On The Go.
  5. This was Gizele’s first time at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
  6. Although she has a body to die for, she didn’t do crazy diets before the show. “Normally I don’t eat any meat, I’m a pescetarian so only fish and vegetables. The only thing I cut off was pasta and trying not to eat much bread as well. But I am still eating pizza!”
  7. However, she works out a lot, and one of her gyms of choice is Dogpound, where a more personalized approach helps people reach their fitness goals faster. She likes boxing and full body workouts, but her favorite exercise is squats and ab workouts because she likes to keep her core, butt and thighs really tight.
  8. She says the key to her modeling career has been always giving her best and never giving up on being and believing in herself.
  9. The best advice she ever got was to never take things personally and to never stop being you. “Once you lose yourself, you lose everything,” she told us.
  10. Because of their similar names, people have started comparing Gizele to Gisele Bundchen, and although she loves the comparison, she still thinks she has a lot of work to do to get there.
  11. Gizele is all about body positivity and embracing that all women are different and have different body types. “Everyone has a different body type, even I have a different body type from the other girls,” she said. “Some have more boobs some have less, all these differences. The industry has changed a lot and now fitness is the new skinny, everything is about working out and eating healthy, which is what should always have been.”
“For all the girls out there my message is be yourself, once you find who you are and what makes you happy nothing can stop you. My biggest idol for that is Demi Lovato. She struggled for many years with her body and now she found herself, a beautiful curvy girl and she looks amazing!”
