The world’s leading Internet television network Netflix, will debut original series featuring actresses like Julie Andrews, Kate Del Castillo, Jane Fonda, and many more.

With over 93 million members in over 190 countries enjoying anytime, anywhere without commercials or commitments, the entertainment company will present even more female characters that are raw, complex and relatable in 2017 in series like the “Ingobernable" or “Girlboss” which reflects the reality of the viewers who watch them. Women who can be vulnerable, strong, funny, badass, executive, gay, trans, curious, depressed, angry, bipolar, fat or skinny or somewhere in between.

“Our goal is to reflect the full human experience across our programming, and powerful female characters like Claire, Sheila or Piper, certainly have a large role within that,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix. “It is critical that women are depicted in all of their complexity and dimensions, and because of the freedom we give our creators to tell their stories, we see the creation of these authentic characters that viewers have come to love so much.”
