Spring break is just around the corner and non-partygoers are already on the lookout for movies to binge-watch on Netflix. While high school and college students typically spend the spring break going on vacations and partying, it is also a common practice for some to stay at home, grab their favorite snacks and stream flicks that they have never seen before.

1. “Pan’s Labyrinth”

Directed by Guillermo Del Toro, “Pan’s Labyrinth” is starred by Sergi Lopez, Maribel Verdu, Ivana Baquero, Ariadna Gil Alex Angulo and Doug Jones. This Spanish movie was released in 2001 and is set five years after the Spanish Civil War in Spain in 1944. It centers on a young girl named Ofelia, who finds herself in the mythical world of enthralling yet dangerous creatures.

2. “Spring Breakers”

Starring Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, “Spring Breakers” is a 2013 movie that revolves around a group of college students who rob a diner so they can have enough cash to spend for their spring break in Florida. After a drug dealer bailed them out of jail, three members of their group find themselves embracing the life of a criminal.

3. “Hell Or High Water”

This neo-Western crime thriller movie was one of the biggest hits of 2016. Written by “Sicario” writer Taylor Sheridan, it tells the story of brothers who go on a bank-robbing spree in West Texas. An Oscar nominee, this movie tackles some of the most complex social issues in the U.S.

4. “The Edge Of Seventeen”

The Edge of Seventeen” is a perfect flick for college students who want to get cured of their nostalgia for high school life. The movie is starred by Hailee Steinfeld and is teen angst, comedy and warmth rolled into one.

5. ”High Flying Bird”

Starring Andre Holland, Zazie Beets, Melvin Gregg and Sonja Sohn, this thrilling drama centers on a sports agent and his attempt to end a basketball lockout that puts him and many other players at risk of financial trouble.

6. “Love Drunk”

Those who want to laugh and fall in love in spring may want to consider watching this movie starring Gillian Jacobs, Phoebe Robinson and Vanessa Bayer, whose characters go on a trip to Barcelona and find themselves in a flirty encounter with a celebrity DJ.

7. “Roma”

Written and directed by Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron, “Roma” is a masterpiece that digs deep into his childhood in the Colonia Roma neighborhood in Mexico City. In this movie, Cuaron tells his own story through the eyes of a live-in housekeeper of a middle-class family named Cleo.

8. “47 Meters Down”

This thrilling movie centers on sisters named Lisa and Kate, whose shark cage diving adventure turns for the worse. The movie follows the sisters as they try to fight for their lives with a great white shark wanting to feast on them 47 meters down the ocean.

9. “The Silence Of The Lambs”

Starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, this 1991 horror thriller was based on a novel by Thomas Harris and follows an FBI trainee who crosses paths with a brilliant psychiatrist and notorious psychopath.

10. “Fyre”

This Netflix original is a documentary featuring the Fyre Festival, the world-famous music festival held in the Bahamas. This documents the festival from its creation down to its unraveling.
