The full cast of “12 Strong,” premiered the powerful new war drama in New York. The film tells the declassified true story of heroism the Horse Soldiers lived during the real events that unfolded a world away in the aftermath of 9/11. Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon, Michael Peña, Trevante Rhodes, Geoff Stults, Elsa Pataky, Rob Riggle, Navid Negahban; director Nicolai Fuglsig; producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill; executive producers Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson; and author Doug Stanton walked the red carpet and shared with the press what people should expect from the movie.

"12 Strong," tells the story of what really happened the day after the September 11 attacks. Task Force Dagger, including CIA paramilitary officers and US Army Green Berets Operational Detachment Alpha 595 (ODA 595) were the first American troop sent into Afghanistan to fight and join forces with General Abdul Rashid Dostum of the Northern Alliance to help conduct unconventional warfare against Taliban forces.

Playing the “12 Strong” U.S. Special Forces team are Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon, Michael Peña, Trevante Rhodes, Geoff Stults, Thad Luckinbill, Austin Stowell, Ben O’Toole, Austin Hébert, Kenneth Miller, Kenny Sheard and Jack Tesy.

At the world premiere, Chris Hemsworth approached the media and responded if the dynamic of working with his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, changed at home. "No, we talked about that for a while and when the opportunity came we both jumped in," said the Australian actor and father of three. Hemsworth also said the films were very "inspirational" for him. "It was very inspirational meeting these guys, knowing their story and dramatize it." During the red carpet, Pataky also took the opportunity to thank everyone and expressed in Spanish how happy she was. "I'm very happy to see you all here!" she said to Latin Times.

The film is set to be released in the United States on January 19, 2018, in standard and IMAX theaters. Watch the official trailer below:
