Does 450-hp and 450 lb.-ft. of torque from a 6.2 liter LT1 small-block V8 sound kind of tame to you? It does to Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE).

Hennessey will introduce a series of performance packages beginning with the 2014 Corvette Stingray HPE600. A TVS2300 supercharger and HPE air induction system for the LT1 V8 will up the Stingray's power output to 600 hp. Next, the HPE700 package will also feature CNC ported cylinder heads and a custom camshaft to bring the horsepower up to 700 hp.

If that still isn't enough, then a twin turbo set up combined with forged aluminum piston, custom forged crankshaft, high-flow cylinder heads, intercooler, a stainless sports exhaust system, a high-performance fuel system, and an ECU, will give the Corvette Stingray HPE800 a good 800 hp. Finally, the top-of-the-line HPE1000 takes no prisoners. A full tune includes twin turbochargers, forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods and crankshaft, custom HPE camshaft, high flow cyclinder heads, fuel system upgrade, stainless steel inlet piping, dual wastegates, intercooler, stainless steel turbo downpipes and exhaust system. This major makeover will allow the Hennessey Corvette Stingray make 1,000 hp.

At some degree, this aftermarket product is arguably more dramatic than the Hennessey HPE1000. Corvette tuner Callaway Cars is offering a new body style known as the AeroWagon. The attachment effectively extends the 2014 Corvette Stingray's roofline and gives it a more upright rear window structure for more interior space and a unique design.

For $15,000, this AeroWagon shooting brake design is far from cheap. What you get is a tailored carbon fiber piece that is manufactured using Callaway's proprietary RTM process for structural carbon parts. "Based on market reaction, Callaway plans to produce the conversions coincident with the release of production C7 Corvettes this Fall," said Callaway in statement. "The AeroWagon option is projected to be under $15,000 and available through Callaway Dealers nationwide."
