The highly anticipated 2015 Corvette Z06 and Corvette C7.R race car are scheduled for their grand debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show on January 13 at 9:30 a.m. EST. GM knows better than to make us wait. The first official pictures of the 2015 Z06 has leaked!

The biggest sylistic changes from the Corvette Stingray to the 2015 Z06 are the additional carbon fiber elements. The front end features a front splitter with integrated winglets on the ends. A side splitter runs along the length of the 2015 Z06. A carbon fiber rear lip spoiler manages downforce at the rear. Given the necessity to manage grip when 650 lb.-ft. of torque are delivered to the wheels, we're somewhat surprised the Z06 isn't going with active aero wings like Porsche and even the latest Lexus RC F.

Earlier this week, we confirmed that the 2015 Corvette Z06 will boast 620 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Make no mistake, Chevrolet claims that the 2015 Z06 is the most track-focused production Corvette ever created. To further draw ties to Corvette's racing heritage, the leaked Z06 features a very special shade of yellow, the official color of the Corvette Racing program.
