A controversial new bill in the state of Arizona has the LGBT community worried as this legislation would allow business owners to deny service to gay and lesbian customers, if they cite their religious beliefs. State Governor Jan Brewer received the bill on Monday and she has five days to make a decision. "I have to look at what it says and what the law says and take that information and do the right thing," she told CNN. "I have a history of deliberating and having an open dialogue on bills that are controversial, to listen to both sides of those issues, and I welcome the input and information that they can provide to me. And certainly I am pro-business, and that is what's turning our economy around, so I appreciate their input, as I appreciate the other side."

An approval of the legislation dubbed the Religious Freedom Bill can harm the state economy. Arizona is set to host Super Bowl XLIX and the passage of the bill could cost them the big game. "Our policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other improper standard," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said. "We are following the issue in Arizona and will continue to do so should the bill be signed into law, but will decline further comment at this time."

The Arizona Super Bowl Host Comittee also weighed in on the matter and opposes Senate Bill 1062. "On that matter we have heard loud and clear from our various stakeholders that adoption of this legislation would not only run contrary to that goal but deal a significant blow to the state's economic growth potential. We do not support this legislation," the committee said.
