Despite the slow trickle of news that has continually plagued "Kingdom Hearts 3," we do have some exciting new reveals to report! Game director, Tetsuya Nomura has provided some teasers to fans of the acclaimed Disney and Square Enix mash up video game. In a recent interview with Famistu, Nomura avoided the topic of a firm release date, but he did reveal that we may be seeing some familiar characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3."

In Famitsu's latest report, Tetsuya Nomura discussed KH3 and the first reveal of the game to fans at the D23 Expo in Japan. The trailer provides very little indication in terms of actual release date, but it seems like Square Enix released the teaser trailer to assure fans that the "Kingdom Hearts 3" will remain with its original gameplay style, despite being first released over 10 years ago. The trailer should seem familiar in style for fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, with the combat system appearing as a revamped HD version. The player screen also looks familiar with the combat menu on the left and the team layout on the right. Sora is seen fighting alongside Donald and Goofy, no new characters are featured in the trailer. When Famitsu attempted to get some spoilers out of Nomura, he revealed the return of Roxas and Ventus in Kingdom Hearts 3, saying simply that he's "looking forward to seeing what happens" when asked about the two characters' possible inclusion.

This small snippet of information is sure to thrill fans who have been clamoring for more spoilers since the original "Kingdom Hearts 3" trailer was released. It seems that news has been slow, mostly due to the lack of production on the video game. While fans know that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will conclude the Dark Seeker saga, however the characters and locations included in the final saga installment is still undecided. Nomura admitted that there have been no definite decisions regarding the final world and obstacles that Sora & Co. will face along their journey to their ultimate encounter with Master Xehanort.

And while fans where excited by the revamped look of KH3 as seen in the trailer, Nomura revealed that the development team is unsatisfied with the current look of the game. "Although this is our first time showing footage of actual game play, the quality isn't anywhere near what the staff members consider satisfying," Nomura told Famitsu, continuing, "So we'll continue working hard to improve the quality." The team has been trying to maintain a certain visual quality since the games inception, although they did not yet possess the technology, but now with the next-generation home consoles they do.

Nomura's team ran into issues mostly because the PlayStation 2 did possess the processing power to "freely adjust the lighting" therefore the attempt at brush-like visual were produced as textures. But now with the release of both the PS4 and Xbox One, Nomura and his team have all the home consoles they need to produce an unbelievable video game. Specifically he stated that "the new hardware has become much more capable, so there is no 'no using lights' option."
