Karla Álvarez' death has been confirmed as resulting from a cardiopulmonary arrest because of the 41-year-old actress' struggles with bulimia and anorexia. The Mexico City Attorney General (PGJDF) confirmed that Álvarez' untimely death was directly linked to her battle with eating disorders, for which she was receiving treatment. An autopsy was not performed as the actress died of natural causes.

Karla Álvarez was found dead by her family on Friday afternoon at her home in the Fuentes del Pedregal neighborhood of Mexico City. The Attorney General also confirmed that emergency services were not called to the scene as a doctor certified the death of the 41-year-old actress. Likewise, the PGJDF revealed that forensic examinations were not undertaken as her death was not a product of a crime but rather from health problems.

Karla Álvarez' death has shocked the Latin and Mexican media. Authorities in the Magdelena Contreras district confirmed that the troubled actress had been seeking treatment for bulimia and anorexia, disorders which lead to her tragic death. Mexican tabloids have also speculated that the 41-year-old was struggling with alcoholism.
