Pope Francis has been winning hearts around the world with his liberal stance on many pressing issues around the world. And now the Pope is making headlines yet again for his random acts of generosity. A recent interview with Archbishop Konrad Krajewski (the "Almoner of His Holiness") has revealed that rumors that the Pope sneaks off at night to give alms to the poor is, in fact, true. "When I say to him 'I'm going out into the city this evening', there's the constant risk that he will come with me," said Krajewski. When asked directly if the Pope comes with him into the city, he reportedly remained silent.

But a source told The Huffington Post that "Swiss guards confirmed that the pope has ventured out at night, dressed as a regular priest, to meet with homeless men and women." This kind of behavior is not new for the Pope, as he used to break bread with the homeless and was spotted eating with them in the streets when he was Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio. What's more, after becoming Pope, he invited over 200 homeless people to join him for dinner at the Vatican. More recently, the Pope address homelessness in his papacy last week. "How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points?" questioned Pope Francis.

Sure, the act of giving back to the homeless is what should be expected of the Pope. What is truly surprising is how discretely the Pope is engaging in these kind acts. As a man of faith, it's no surprise that the Pope is not looking for media recognition, as he is most likely simply following what he feels is right and the words of the Bible--according to Matthew 6:2: "When you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others."
