One of the most successful soccer clubs in the long, illustrious history of the sport may soon be adding another weapon to their arsenal.

According to Bleacher Report, Manchester United is among 3 clubs interested in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruma. The other 2 clubs showing interest are said to be Chelsea and Manchester City.

A player with tremendous speed and excellent footwork, Bruma has already established himself as one of the premier talents in the Liga Sagres, the Portugese Football League his current Lisbon club is a member of.

Playing for most of this season on the Lisbon B squad, the 18-year-old was called up to the top level on February 10th. In a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Maritimo, Bruma saw his first significant action with the club. He'd notch his first goal with the first-team 6 days later in a 3-2 victory over Gil Vicente.

As The Express notes, Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon have a history of player transfers.

Following a 3-goal campaign in 25 matches for Sporting Lisbon during the 2002-2003 season, Cristiano Ronaldo was signed by Manchester United in 2003. He'd play with Man U until 2009 before joining Real Madrid.

Another significant move between the two clubs came in 2007 when former Sporting winger Nani was signed by Man U as well. In 133 career games with Manchester United, the 26-year-old has notched 26 goals.

While Bruma is not on the level of a Messi or Ronaldo just yet, the potential for this young talent is sky-high.

In 26 matches this season, Sporting Lisbon has 8 wins, 9 draws, and 9 losses for a total of 33 points, putting them in the 9th position in the Portuguese Liga Standings so a lift from Bruma would be more than welcome.

Through 9 contests as a member of the first-team, Bruma has totaled 1 goal and his game minutes will continue to progress as he gets more acclimated with the club.

The situation with this rising star and where his future in the sport of soccer lies will certainly be something to keep an eye on. With Man U, Manchester City and Chelsea all keeping tabs on the young forward, it seems likely that one of these clubs will eventually land perhaps the most highly-regarded young talent in the sport.
