Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus all went missing in the early part of the century. Their families had nearly given up hope when all three missing women were found alive on Monday.

The BBC gives a profile of each woman, when they were last seen and how long they have been missing. Michelle Knight was the first of the missing women to disappear. She vanished in 2002 but there was not a lot of media attention about her case. Her family believed the Cleveland woman left on her own after losing custody of her son.

Amanda Berry was the next of the three missing woman to be kidnapped. After leaving her job at Burger King on April 19, 2003 Berry called her sister to say she was getting a ride and would be home soon. That was the last time anyone heard from Amanda Berry.

The last time anyone saw 14-year-old Gina DeJesus was April 2, 2004. DeJesus was at a pay phone in Cleveland calling a friend's mother to ask about a sleepover. When the friend's mother said no, DeJesus and her pals went their separate ways and DeJesus was not heard from again.

The three missing women were found on Monday in a Cleveland home where they spent over a decade as prisoners. The missing women were found by Charles Ramsey, Reuters says. Ramsey was enjoying some McDonald's when he heard a woman screaming for help. The woman screaming was Amanda Berry.

Ramsey followed the screams and was led to the house where the three women and a little girl believed to be Amanda Berry's daughter were being held. Ramsey broke down the blocked door and Amanda Berry came out holding a little girl.

Amanda Berry called 911 using Ramsey's phone. In her emotional plea for help she tells police who she is and that she has "been kidnapped and been missing for 10-years. I'm here, I'm free."

In her 911 call Berry is begging the dispatcher to send the police right away. She says the man who kidnapped her and the two other women went out and she needed the police "now before he gets back."

In her 911 call Berry names one of the kidnappers (it turns out there were 3) as 52-year-old Ariel Castro a former school bus driver.

After police arrived the three missing women were taken to a hospital. The women are reported to be in good health and have been released. The UK newspaper The Mirror is streaming live coverage of a press conference about the missing women being found.

From the press conference we now know:

"Police confirm the three men in custody are Ariel Castro and two brothers."

"The three men arrested have been confirmed as Ariel Castro and his brothers Oneil Castro and Pedro Castro."

"Police expect to charge the individuals in the next 36-hours."

"FBI agent Stephen Anthony says [the three women] are providing assistance to the police."

The families of the three missing women found on Monday were over joyed and emotional when the women were found alive. Amanda Berry's mother, Louwana Miller spent the rest of her life searching for her daughter. Unfortunately the constant searching and heartache over her missing daughter was too much for Miller. She died in 2006.
