Gina DeJesus was one of three missing women found on Monday after being held prisoner for more than 10-years by Ariel Castro and his two brothers.

It was discovered after the three missing women were found alive that the son of the kidnapper interviewed DeJesus' mother, Nancy Ruiz for an article about the vanished girl. News anchor Sara Shookman of WKYC made the startling discovery.

Gina DeJesus was reported missing in April of 2004. As previously reported by the Latin Times Gina DeJesus was last seen at a payphone with some friends from school. The teen girls called a friend's mom to ask if they could have a sleepover. When the mom said no the girls split up and Gina DeJesus was not heard from again.

After her disappearance the DeJesus family wanted to make sure their daughter's name was in the mind of the media so people would continue to look for her. One story published about Gina Dejesus' disappearance was written by Anthony "Ariel" Castro the son of the man that kidnapped Gina DeJesus. For his article Anthony Castro used his father's name.

While the younger Ariel Castro was a journalism student at BGSU he conducted an interview with Gina DeJesus' mother for a class assignment never realizing it was his own father that had taken the 14-year-old girl.

"One thing is for certain, however. Almost everyone feels a connection with the family and Gina's disappearance has the whole area talking." That was a line from Ariel Castro's article about the disappearance of Gina DeJesus.

The author had no idea how connected he truly was to the case.

When Gina DeJesus' mother spoke with the younger Ariel Castro she told him that her friends and neighbors were helping to search for Gina. Ruiz told Castro,

"People are watching out for each other's kids...Bless their hearts...They've been great...People are really looking out for my daughter."

When the younger Ariel Castro spoke to Sara Shookman he told her, "This is beyond comprehension...I'm truly stunned right now."

Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight were all kidnapped and held prisoner by now 52-year-old Ariel Castro. When the elder Castro left the house where he was keeping the missing women, Amanda Berry began to scream for help.

Charles Ramsey was sitting at a McDonalds when he heard the woman screaming. After helping the women out of the house Amanda Berry used his phone to call 911. Her emotional 911 call was previously reported on by the Latin Times.

All three men involved with the kidnapping of Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight are in custody. Charges are to be filed within 36-hours.
