Each time Ariel Castro appears in court wearing his orange jumpsuit and shackled in a manner similar to his victims the accused kidnapper refuses to make eye contact with anyone, even his own lawyers. In court on Wednesday the judge addressed Castro asking if he understood the legal proceeding he was a part of.

Keeping his eyes fixed on the table in front of him Castro practically whispered his answer to the judge. "Yes" Castro replied when the judge questioned him. Castro also told the judge he had no question for the court, still without making eye contact.
