The "50 Shades of Grey" movie has officially confirmed Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the film adaptation of the popular S&M filled book. Universal Pictures announced Wednesday that the British visual artist will step behind the camera and film the kinky, sexy story of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

While rumors surrounding who would be cast as the main characters in the "50 Shades of Grey" movie remain only rumors, the film's director says she will "honor the power of the book." The "50 Shades" book trilogy sold over 70 million copies each, according to Perez Hilton.

Fans of the book series have hyped the movie up and are now hoping Sam Taylor-Johnson is up to the task of directing the film version of the book.
