The George Zimmerman murder trial has now entered day four of testimony. The defense is currently questioning the girlfriend of Trayvon Martin. Yesterday the prosecution cross examined Martin's girlfriend who said she was the last person who spoke to the teen before he was shot by Zimmerman in February 2012.

The defense has questioned the girlfriend's credibility and honesty saying she lied to Martin's parents and did not attend her boyfriend's funeral. Martin's girlfriend claimed she lied because she felt guilty about being the last person to speak with Martin and not being able to help him.

The jurors also heard prior 911 calls Zimmerman made months before the shooting where he described suspicious people in his neighborhood. The prosecution said these calls go to the defendant's state of mind. The prosecution also said the calls show how increasingly frustrated George Zimmerman was becoming as more break-ins were occurring in his neighborhood with none of the burglars being caught.

"We've had a lot of break-ins in our neighborhood," Zimmerman is heard saying in one of the tapes. "There are two suspicious characters at the gate of my neighborhood. I've never seen them before. I have no idea what they're doing. They're just hanging out, loitering."
The defense has objected to the use of the past 911 tapes saying they are irrelevant. Zimmerman is facing a possible life sentence for shooting Trayvon Martin. The prosecution believes Zimmerman profiled Martin because he was black. The defense is claiming self-defense saying Martin turned on Zimmerman attacking him and slamming Zimmerman's head again against the ground.
