"NHL 2014" will be released on September 10, 2013. The cover will feature legendary New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. The game will have some new features but fans should be excited for the special 20th anniversary addition of "NHL 94" that EA Sports will showcase in the game.

In late 1993 "NHL 94" was released for SEGA Genesis. This game was a breakthrough for NHL fans. For the first time team names, logos and player names were allowed to be featured in the game. The games creators and producers struck a deal with the NHL and the players association, which allowed the names and logos to be used.

"NHL 94" became immensely popular and today has a website dedicated to keeping the original game alive. "NHL 06" included a modified version of the game but online fans like to play the original in all its glory.

Called "the most iconic title in the history of the NHL franchise," by newgamenetwork.com the anniversary edition of "NHL 94" will be available only for offline play. It comes in a single came mode and is said to be as "over the top" as when it was originally released in 1993.

The game will be available for Xbox 360 and Play Station 3.
