Before the stars of “Game of Thrones” celebrated their upcoming fourth season at a Comic-Con panel, they respectfully and dutifully played homage to all of the characters who have died in HBO’s hit series. And while it was hard to watch the painful memories of our fallen heroes’ tragic last moments, the trailer was a necessary remainder for all those who dare to play the “Game of Thrones.”

As season 4 approaches we must remember the smug, meddling, and cunning words of Petyr “Little Finger” Baelish when he so devilish stated, "Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get the chance to try again; the fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, and they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is."

And while Baelish was so distracted with his well-rehearsed monologue he almost forgot, "The North Remembers." Oh yeah, that is how the trailer for season 4 ends, with three simple words that mean so much. And since we have about a year to wait until we catch a glimpse of Westeros again, let's just take a moment to revel in the comedic value of "Game of Thrones." Only this how could pair some of the most brutal deaths on television with Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," and make it so funny yet sad. The trailer was flawless, I laughed, I cried, I looked forward to the future, while never forgetting the past.

Now that I've stepped off an emotional "Game of Thrones" roller-coaster, let's discuss the cast and crew at the Comic-Con panel. Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, writer and co-executive producer George R.R. Martin, were joined at Comic-Con by Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Richard Madden and John Bradley West.

The Comic-Con panel was dominated with talk regarding the Red Wedding, Robb and Catelyn's exit from the show, and of course Martin's writing process for the sixth and seventh novels in his "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. The show is adapted from the series and Martin is a notoriously slow writer, and now Martin revealed he is rushing to finish his work before HBO's series catches up to him. I can't imagine Martin rushing to do much of anything, although he did reveal that he is deliberating writing a prequel and considering I don't know what will happen to my life after "A Song of Ice and Fire" is complete, I suggest that Martin gets started on that prequel simply for my sanity.
